The Vengeance Pack is the first DLC for Crimson Alliance and it brings with it a fun challenge and new weapons and plenty of gold. It contains some story levels and a horde style challenge map called Fistful of Coins. Just like the original game it is much more enjoyable with friends but totally doable by yourself.
Mission Length: The length of the story missions in the DLC is satisfactory and possibly a little longer than some of the original levels. There is a new danger in one of the levels as the environment will kill you if you take too long on certain parts. The length of the missions with the new danger and even more boss fights makes a great addition to the story.
Challenge: Both the challenge level and the story levels this time are a little more challenging. You will find yourself relying on your deployable items and pickups more often than your used to. It does make beating these levels feel like more of an accomplishment and will also net you an achievement.
Fistful of Coins: If you’re looking for an abundance of loot then Fistful of Coins is where you will want to be playing. This is a fun take on horde mode where after each way you will be asked whether you want to take the gold you have earned or bet it to try and make more by defeating the next wave. If you are able to beat wave seven it will net you an achievement, and with a good team you could most likely go for hours and be rich by the end of you play time.
It ends: While this isn’t really a con because you do get a good amount of content for the price, I was sad that it ended and I can’t wait for the next DLC. I hope they expand on this universe quite a bit and that maybe one day we can get a sequel or something similar.
The Vengeance Pack will cost you 240 MSP and it is most definitely worth it if you enjoyed the original game and are looking to delve back into the world. Fistful of Coins will get you all the money you need for those items that you have been coveting and the new story missions will expand upon the universe you never wanted to leave in the first place.
