Earlier this morning it looks like the man himself Notch sent out a tweet indicating that Minecraft for the Xbox 360 has indeed sold 3 million units to date. Making it the fastest and highest selling arcade title to date. Catch more details inside.
The next closest game to hit anywhere near the 3 million mark currently is Castle Crashers which is around 2.9 million and has been out on the market for four years while Minecraft has been out for just over two months. That is quite the record for an XBLA title, and with Microsoft posting an 18 billion dollar quarter just recently it will be interesting to see how many more copies will be sold.
